Joseph Alexander Horvath, 90, of Port Huron Township, died Friday, July 11, 2014.
He was born May 12, 1924 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late Vincent and Mary Horvath. He married Irene Kovach on September 14, 1946 in Detroit.
Mr. Horvath worked for Mueller Brass for 23 years until his retirement in 1987. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Irene; daughter, Sharen (Robert) Brenton; son, Lawrence (Susan) Horvath; five grandchildren, Christy (Jon) Heath, Sheila (Dennis) Klaas, Kerri (Don) Wahl, Andrew (Maggie) Horvath, and Rebecca (Tim) Duerr; nine great grandchildren, Joseph and Caitlyn Heath, Courtney and Kylie Klaas, Hunter and Logan Wahl, Krystian and Julianna Horvath, and Allison Duerr; two sisters, Eleanor Kinney and Olga Hay; a brother, Ralph (Connie) Horvath; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Horvath.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Dr. Richard E. Hotchkin will officiate.
Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery, Ruby. Pallbearers will be Joseph’s family. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ.
