Dennis C Fox

August 1st, 1959 to June 30th, 2021
Obituary

Dennis Carl Fox, 61, of Wales Township, died Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

He was born August 1, 1959 in Port Huron to the late Carl Thomas and Shirley Margaret Fox. He married Kathy Marie Fisher on August 17, 1985. He always said, “It was the best thing I ever did,” other than accepting Christ at a young age.

Mr. Fox was employed with SEMCO Energy for 32 years in various positions but primarily working as a Gas Mechanic with high pressure gas and industrial gas meters. He previously worked seven years at Port Huron Hospital as a Lifter on the Orthopedic Floor. He was also a lifetime farmer of 550 acres in Wales Township. He worked the family farm which has been in the family for 146 years.

Dennis found joy in spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly, farming, and visiting with people. To meet Dennis, was to know and love Dennis, and to remember him and the impact he had on you forever. He was often described as “everybody’s friend.” He was well known for his always present smile, his love and care for everyone he met, his generosity, his compassionate personality, and his genuine concern for others. He enjoyed having friends and family at the farm for food and fellowship, teaching the next generation about farming, and watching agricultural television programs. Just as Dennis planted seed in the ground, he was constantly planting seeds in others - and God blessed and multiplied both types of sowing.

Dennis grew up attending First Baptist Church of Goodells and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Bible Church for 36 years, serving as a deacon on the board for several of those years.

Everywhere he went, Dennis talked about his family - and in return, Dennis was cherished by his wife and daughters, and will be in their hearts “forever and always.” By example, he taught them many lessons they will never forget about living a life wholly and completely for Christ. His prayer life was one to be admired - sincere, consistent, and deep. God was not just someone he believed in, but someone he had a personal relationship with.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathy; three daughters, Crystal M. Fox, Dr. Stacy A. Fox and April D. Fox; sister-in-law, Dianne Kinney; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronald & Roberta Fisher and Gerald & Sue Fisher; special cousin, Colleen Martin; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Robert and Dorothy Fisher; and a brother-in-law, David Kinney.

Visitation will be 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in Hillside Wesleyan Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Stephen Anderson and the Reverend Vincent Messina will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Wales Township. Pallbearers will be Randy Poor, Rick Sutton, Jacob Behrendt, Ted Wessel, John Freigruber and Dave Fitz.
