Mason F Mills

Mason Mills, 96, of Marysville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 2, 2014.
He was born November 12, 1917 in Port Huron to the late Fred Vance and Minnie Louise Mills. He married his Sweetheart, Helen Johnson, on January 20, 1940 and they enjoyed 70 years of marriage before her death on July 29, 2010.
Mason retired in 1974 as Assistant Postmaster in Port Huron after 35 years with the U.S. Postal Service. He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II. He was a member of Hillside Wesleyan Church and served on the Missions Committee. He was a board member for Youth for Christ for over 20 years. Mason enjoyed carpentry and construction and built several houses for family members.
He is survived by three sons, James (Lynda) Mills of Renton, Washington, Richard (Cheryl) Mills of Bradenton, Florida and Thomas (Debbie) Mills of North Street; six grandchildren, Chris (Oksana) Mills of Maple Valley, Washington, Paul (Hallie) Mills of Kent, Washington, Jeff (Naydia) Mills of Noblesville, Indiana, Rev. Andrew (Melody) Mills of Lakeport, Nathan (Olivia) Marone of Asheville, North Carolina and Kaitlin (Gary) Lee of Fort Gratiot; nine great grandchildren, Silas, Benjamin, Madelyn, Jacob, Mia, Julia, Zachary and Ellie Mills and Chelsea and Katie Lee; and a great great grandson, Braeden.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014 in Hillside Wesleyan Church. The Rev. Dirk Case will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Mason’s grandsons will served as pallbearers. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hillside Wesleyan Church Missions or St. Clair County Youth for Christ.
