Marla Jean Taylor, 74, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014.

She was born February 4, 1940 in Port Huron to the late Bert and Laura Miller.

Marla worked for AT&T for 13 years before her retirement in 2005. She liked talking on her CB radio with the handle “MamaT”, bowling in leagues, stitching plastic canvas, and selling Tupperware.

She is survived by five children; Charles (Linda) Taylor of Ruby, Norman (Jo) Taylor III of Indiana, Arlene (Don) Palecki of Jeddo, Gerald (Sharon) Taylor of Kimball, and David (Camila) Taylor of Sterling Heights; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fern (Paul) Oliver of Texas, and Marilyn (Fred) Defrain of Port Huron Township; her children’s father, Norman Taylor II of Ruby; longtime friend, Herbert Dandron; and a beloved dog, Scootch.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Haney of Cross Current Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
