Jay C Ross
Jay Charles Ross, 64, of Port Huron, loving brother and uncle, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021.
Jay was born on August 31, 1956 in Detroit to James and Shirley Ross.
Jay became a barber after attending barber school and worked at Sullivan’s Barber Shop for many years. Jay never married or had children, but embraced his many nieces and nephews as his own. He was very passionate in his love for Jesus Christ. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and reader at daily Mass at both St. Joseph and St. Stephen Catholic Churches. His love for others led him to be a supporter of Alcoholics Anonymous helping men deal with their addiction. Over the years he carefully constructed many rosaries to spread prayer and devotion to St. Mary, mother of Jesus. He was very proud one of his rosaries made it to an audience with Pope Francis in Rome. He was also an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, James (Heather) Ross, Terrance (Rachel) Ross, Ryan Reid (Brandi Goodwin), Jennifer (Aaron) Krohn, Matthew (Tammy) Phillips, Bonnie (James) Garrett, Laura Phillips and Angela (Gordon) Meadows, who loved him like a father; siblings, Susan (Marcelino) Frausto, Sheryl (Don) Reid, Michael (Mandy) Phillips and Judy (Mark) Paruszkiewicz. He was preceded in death by his father James; mother, Shirley; and a brother, Stanley.
