Ruth Burtch

Ruth Pearl Burtch, 92, of Port Huron, died Sunday, June 24, 2012.
She was born September 15, 1919 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to the late Matthew and Lucy McKee. She married Edward E. Burtch on August 9, 1936 in Detroit. He died November 27, 1983.
Mrs. Burtch retired from Port Huron Hospital after many years of service. She attended Port Huron Assembly of God Church and was a former member of the Blue Water Festival Association and the Blue Water Fife and Drum Corps Auxiliary. Her family was chocolatiers, and she made wonderful chocolates and cakes. She enjoyed sewing and many crafts.
She is survived by a daughter, Ruth "Tena" (Robert) Ainsworth of Ruby; four sons, Matthew C. "Mike" (Lyn) Burtch of Florida and Edward E. Burtch Jr., Daniel E. (Bessie) Burtch and William D. (Cindy) Burtch, all of Port Huron; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James F. Burtch on August 8, 1956; four sisters; two sisters-in-law; and a brother-in-law.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Wales Township. The Rev. Robert J. Corby, Sr. will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Water Hospice by sending them to the funeral home or directly to the hospice at 1430 Military Street, Port Huron, MI 48060.
