Frank Allen Reed, 74, of St. Clair died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in Mt. Clemens Select Specialty Hospital.
Frank was born October 11, 1938 in Tennessee to the late William Carter and Bessie Reed. He married Barbara Foley on May 1, 1964 in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
Mr. Reed graduated from the University of the Cumberlands. He taught science and math for New Haven Community Schools for 33 years, retiring in 1997. As track coach of New Haven High School he won three back-to-back State Championships in 1995, ’96 and ’97. He was Macomb County Coach of the Year and Michigan Coach of the Year and was inducted into the Michigan Coaches Hall of Fame. He loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; two daughters, Michele (Matthew) Taylor and Christy Morton; four grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Mitchell, Nick and Madison, all of Marysville; and a nephew, Rusty Kerr of Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Marysville Funeral Home, 1200 Michigan Avenue. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate.
