Eleanor C Purcell

Eleanor C. Purcell, 90, of Port Huron, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 in Marwood Manor.

She was born April 6, 1922 in Toronto, Canada and moved to Port Huron at the age of 3 with her parents, Roy and Clara Chatterson. She was a graduate of Port Huron High School, Class of 1941. Eleanor married James Purcell on June 17, 1950 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1986.

Eleanor retired from Great Scott Foods in 1985. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was happy to be a new Club 90 member.

She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Francisco and Connie (Ervin) Lewis; a son, James (Belinda) Purcell; five grandchildren, Amy Wilson, Scott (Gabrielle) Francisco, Michael Lewis, Brandon Purcell and Rob (Renee) Donaghy; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Thomas, and a brother, Donald Chatterson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Reverend William Wright will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Francisco, Brandon Purcell, Rob Donaghy and Ervin Lewis.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church or Marwood Nursing and Rehab.

The family thanks the nurses, aides and everyone at Marwood Manor B Wing for all their compassionate, loving care that was shown to our mother during her time there. You are all true angels.
