Elmer Lenn
Elmer Lenn, 92, of Marysville, died Friday, July 15, 2016.
He was born February 1, 1924 in Verona Township, Huron County to the late Peter and Martha Lemanski.
Mr. Lenn worked for Pressed Metals for 10 years and retired from the City of Marysville DPW after 22 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with three bronze battle stars. He was a former member of American Legion Marysville Post 449. Elmer enjoyed playing softball, skating, cards, horse shoes, and woodworking and has helped a number of people build their homes. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and his dogs.
He is survived by three daughters, Judy “Blondie” Jurk, Jan “Chub” (Al) Rich and Karen “Sam” (Dave) Quader; six grandchildren Michael Yurk, Scott Jurk, Jennifer Rich, Janal (David) Grattan, Nichole (Jim) Hewitt and Ryan (Heather) Quader; seven great grandchildren, Alexis Yurk, Kyle Hewitt, Gracie Rich, Miranda Grattan, Sophia Quader, Gwendolyn Grattan and Nolan Quader; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Lenn; four brothers, Lucien Lenn, Vic Lemanski, Ed Lemanski and Bernard Lemanski; five sisters, Emma Buch, Theresa Prill, Lillian Allen, Sylvia Smarch and Romanda Murphy; and his son-in-law, Stephen Jurk.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Bob Easlick, chaplain of Hospice of Michigan, will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
