John P. "Chico" Savedra, Jr.
John Peter “Chico” Savedra Jr., 70, of Port Huron, departed this life on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born October 9, 1947 to the late John and Margaret Savedra.
Chico attended the Port Huron Area Schools and worked in the construction industry for most of his work life. He also served in the U.S. Army. He loved riding his motor cycle and, most of all, spending quality time with his family. He was also very conscious of his dress attire!
He leaves to cherish his life, his children, William Avery, Kelly (Dwight) Ashford-Porter, Talisha Guyton, Johlenna Guyton and John Russell; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Spear and Carmen (Willis) Curry; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Savedra.
Mr. Savedra will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Salvatore Palazzolo will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
