Mary C DeLand

Mary Cay Deland, 94, of Port Huron Township, died Sunday, September 25, 2016 after a long illness.

She was born August 29, 1922 in Detroit to the late Joseph A. and Emily Schmidt. She married Donald L. DeLand on February 23, 1944 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2006.

Mrs. DeLand enjoyed sewing, reading, and traveling. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Club in Rochester, Michigan and Holy Trinity Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church.

She is survived by her three children, Richard (Connie) DeLand, Michael (Shawn) DeLand and Cathie (Beth Thoms) DeLand; four grandchildren, Kelley, Richard, Darcy and Matthew; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert DeLand.

Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Mrs. DeLand will lie in state at St. Stephen Catholic Church on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. The Reverend Jeffrey Allan will officiate.

Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery.
