John G Nicholas

John George Nicholas, 93, of Marysville, died Friday, July 13, 2018.

He was born December 11, 1924 in Marysville to the late George and Sophie Nicholas. He married Beverly J. “Alma” Kivel on June 19, 1948 in Marysville. She died May 19, 2013.

John retired from SEMCO as a division manager. He was a member of Marysville United Methodist Church and enjoyed going up north, duck carving, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his son, Reg Nicholas; daughter, Nanette Glaze; three grandchildren, Jade (Debra) Glaze, Chris (Natalie) Glaze, and Reggie Nicholas; three great grandchildren, Madalynn and Charlie Glaze and Olivia Nicholas; two brothers, Daniel Nicholas and Robert (Phyllis) Nicholas; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 2-4 and & 6-8 p.m. Monday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in Marysville United Methodist Church with visitation starting at 10 a.m. The Rev. Barbara E. Welbaum will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Pallbearers will be Reggie Nicholas, Jade Glaze, Chris Glaze, Steven Nicholas, Hank Augustyn, Grant Partridge and Craig Ellis. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
